DAVID'S SERVICES

Sound Producer
Learning how to make music using Digital Audio Workstations at Riverside Music College has allowed me to fully grasp the methods of work when creating music and how to put them to use. Having the great knowledge passed down by my lecturers, I am now able to express the creative side of me that has been patiently waiting to become unleashed. Having this new found ability has only made my passion and lust to create music, has only inspired my enthusiasm and am keen to show the world what I can do.

Event Manager
I have been educated in working with live sound for events. The skills I have learned will be utilised and increasing as time passes. I have a vast knowledge on sound acoustics, setting up and organising event equipment, understanding competitors. Knowing how to confidently work with other people, having more people constructively sending ideas to any conversations, is a valuable asset to utilise. I have stared an event with my college colleges called "Sort Fuse Collective", where we plan to host themed nights uniting different cultures. We aim to keep the energy levels high at our events, ensuring the short fuse theme is in tandem with our music.

Live Preforming DJ
Spinning records for a near century, I have always had the ability to build crowds and encourage the wackiest dancing. Leaving people with unforgettable nights. I am flexible in playing both Vinyl and Digital. Having learned how to confidently use both I can be tailored to the needs of any client. I have a huge disco, electro, house record collection, if that isn't necessarily the vibe the event holder is after, I can download any pre discussed playlists and happily jam with they're desi-ed tracks. Having experience mixing in both club, bar and house party environments, I am confident and comfortable no matter the surroundings.

Professional Profile
I am David Power, a seasoned sound designer and music enthusiast with a rich background in live mixing. My journey in music began in my formative years, influenced by my parents, and has since evolved into a dynamic exploration of sound production, foley, and music creation.

I have been granted my higher diploma in the study of Multimedia Sound Production at Riverside Music College, where I've cultivated a comprehensive skill set. Proficient in Ableton Live, I've composed and produced groundbreaking tracks, driven by a desire to break barriers between Dance, Hip Hop, and Grime Music. My ambition is to infuse glitch like sounds, breakbeat jungle, and unique vocals from Southside.
My interest in music began at an early age, like most kids, my initial musical influences came from my parents. As the I grew, my musical tastes broadened, and I become interested in live mixing. By the time I reached 15 years old, I was mixing vinyls at house parties, mixing analogue and digital sounds using turntables and CDJs. I founded the allies Southside Acid Movement by 18 years old I secured my first residency in a local establishment. I became the face of a local urban clothing brand, and my SAM (Southside Acid Movement) logo was used on a range of their clothing.
My organisational skills are excellent and essential, when arranging any form of collaborations, its vital to understand their requirements, schedule the resources, adapt to the environment,
My interest in music production brought me to Riverside Music College. The skillset and knowledge that has been offered to me has been immeasurable and includes many things like making music using Ableton, using field recorders to record and manipulate for sound design and foley. I am competent in the use of Ableton Live production software. Ableton Live is designed to be an instrument for live performances as well as a tool for composing, recording, arranging, mixing, mastering and synthesising and for manipulating sound. I have composed and produced several tracks using this software. My ambition is to break the barrier between Dance, Hip Hop and Grime Music. I intend to put a spin on these genres and create a distinctive sound, partly by using glitchy sounds, breakbeat jungle. The music produced will be ground-breaking with its origins firmly embedded within the heart and soul of Glasgow’s Southside.
My experiences during my time working within the construction industry, is that no matter how large or small the organisation, teamwork is one of the essential qualities required to succeed. Having a flexible and adaptable approach is also a requisite. As an excellent communicator I would liaise with the client, suppliers, and management, ensuring resources and supplies were programmed as needed, the client expectations were being met, and at the same time, ensuring quality standards remained constant. Working under pressure to ensure projects are achieved within a given timeline can be challenging but can also be extremely rewarding.
